Who could be next Chelsea boss? Henry and Carra assess potential candidates

Andoni Iraola was one of the coaches Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry discussed in relation to the vacancy at Chelsea on Monday Night Football.

Athletic Club reveal next head coach...and it is not Iraola

Athletic Club have announced Edin Terzic has agreed to become their new head coach, ending speculation around Andoni Iraola returning to his former club.

Former Borussia Dortmund boss Terzic's contract at Athletic Club will run until the summer of 2028, and he will be presented to the fans at the start of the new season.

Iraola, who is leaving Bournemouth at the end of the season, was one of the candidates of interest to Athletic Club, where he spent 12 years as a player.

However, the 43-year-old, on the three-man shortlist to take over as Chelsea head coach, will not be returning to the Basque Country.

Manchester United are searching for a new head coach this summer and speculation has linked Iraola with a move to Old Trafford - but as it stands Michael Carrick is in pole position.

Real Madrid also have a vacancy in the dugout they need to fill with Alvaro Arbeloa's contract set to expire.

'Carrick to be offered permanent role'

Michael Carrick is expected to be offered the chance to continue as Manchester United's head coach after qualifying for the Champions League, according to The Guardian.

Carrick became the first Englishman to win eight of his nine Premier League home games as a manager after leading the club to a 3=2 win over Liverpool on Sunday.

City agree new four-year deal in principle with Foden

Phil Foden and Manchester City have agreed terms in principle on a new four-year contract.

The terms also include an option to extend that by a further year until 2031 if necessary.

Foden's current deal is set to expire in 2027.

The 25-year-old has scored 10 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions this season.

Brentford are in talks with RB Salzburg for defender Jannik Schuster, according to the Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old will reportedly cost the Bees around 16m.

Wolves eyeing goalkeeper Polster

Wolves and Celtic are looking at Austrian goalkeeper Nikolas Polster this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old is regarded as one of his country's brightest prospects, the paper claims, after he was named the Austrian Bundesliga's goalkeeper of the year.

'Man Utd interested in West Ham's Fernandes'

Manchester United are interested in signing West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, according to The Telegraph.

It is suggested that the 21-year-old midfielder is expected to leave the east London club this summer, with the Hammers facing relegation.

West Ham dropped back into the relegation zone this weekend and are a point behind Tottenham with three games to play.

Fernandes has impressed in his debut season for West Ham, joining the club from Southampton, who were relegated last summer, for a reported 38m fee.

'Real Madrid targeting Emery as new manager'

Real Madrid have put Aston Villa boss Unai Emery high on their shortlist to become their next manager, according to talkSPORT.

Emery joined the club as Steven Gerrard's successor in November 2022 and is contracted at Villa Park until the summer of 2029.

The report suggests a move to the Bernabeu Stadium could tempt Emery into a return to LaLiga, having managed Villarreal, Valencia, Sevilla and Almeria earlier in his career.

Real are looking to appoint a new manager after Alvaro Arbeloa took charge following the sacking of Xabi Alonso in January.
