'Man Utd interested in West Ham's Fernandes'

Manchester United are interested in signing West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, according to The Telegraph.

It is suggested that the 21-year-old midfielder is expected to leave the east London club this summer, with the Hammers facing relegation.

West Ham dropped back into the relegation zone this weekend and are a point behind Tottenham with three games to play.

Fernandes has impressed in his debut season for West Ham, joining the club from Southampton, who were relegated last summer, for a reported 38m fee.

'Real Madrid targeting Emery as new manager'

Real Madrid have put Aston Villa boss Unai Emery high on their shortlist to become their next manager, according to talkSPORT.

Emery joined the club as Steven Gerrard's successor in November 2022 and is contracted at Villa Park until the summer of 2029.

The report suggests a move to the Bernabeu Stadium could tempt Emery into a return to LaLiga, having managed Villarreal, Valencia, Sevilla and Almeria earlier in his career.

Real are looking to appoint a new manager after Alvaro Arbeloa took charge following the sacking of Xabi Alonso in January.

Young celebrates retirement with promotion

Ashley Young is set to retire from football after helping Ipswich Town gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Perez emerges as frontrunner for Villarreal job

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas:

Rayo Vallecano head coach Inigo Perez is understood to be the frontrunner for the Villarreal job, with Marcelino leaving at the end of the season.

Villarreal have announced they are parting ways with the 60-year-old at the end of the campaign, despite qualifying for the Champions League.

Villarreal CF and the Asturian coach will part ways at the end of the season, a Villarreal statement read.

Thank you from the heart, Marce, for everything you've given to this club and to this fanbase. We wish you all the best in your future sporting endeavours.

Perez has previously worked with Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and was among the names linked with succeeding him before they appointed Marco Rose.

Marcelino has been in charge of Villarreal since 2023 and they are third in LaLiga with four games to go, five points clear of Atletico Madrid in fourth and 15 clear of Real Betis in fifth.

Birmingham and Norwich targeting MLS winger

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas and Anthony Joseph:

Birmingham and Norwich are both keen on signing Charlotte FC winger Liel Abada this summer.

They are two of several clubs that are exploring how to bring him to the Championship before next season.

His current deal in MLS expires at the end of 2026, although there is an option to extend it to December 2027.

The 24-year-old has scored 13 goals in 76 appearances since signing from Celtic in 2024.

While in Scotland, he scored 29 and made a further 22 goals in more than 100 games.

Neville: Liverpool are 'vulnerable' and 'weak'

Your Site' Gary Neville says Liverpool's squad is now "vulnerable" and needs to get recruitment right in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool spent 446m on Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Giovanni Leoni, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez but have struggled this season, with Arne Slot's side fourth in the Premier League.

"Obviously, the fact that [Hugo] Ekitike, [Alexander] Isak, and [Mohamed] Salah are not playing. Those is three massive players," Neville said on Your Site following the 3-2 loss to Manchester United.

"But just generally, throughout the actual team, the back-up at centre-half, the back-up at full-backs, the midfield, all of a sudden looks a little bit slower.

"And you're just thinking to yourself, it's a glass-half-empty, glass-half-full conversation. And to be fair, you can have that conversation at any point after a defeat.

"But it's the first time I looked at Liverpool's team and thought, it does look quite shallow, that squad. And then they're obviously going to lose Salah in the summer.

"They're going to have to do a little bit of a rebuild.,

"For the first time today [Sunday] in that first half, I thought, that does look vulnerable. And the squad and the bench look weak.

"And I know they've got three players out. But it all of a sudden didn't look like a team that was anywhere near the team that actually won the title.

"There's a bit of a job to do there in terms of obviously getting the recruitment right again in the summer."

Fabregas discusses future amid PL links

Cesc Fabregas has revealed he would like to manage in the Premier League one day - but adds he is in no rush to make the move.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder has taken Italian side Como from Serie B to the brink of European football and has been linked with some of Europe's top jobs.

But Fabregas has revealed he could stay at Como for another ten years.

The Premier League is the best league in the world, Fabregas told the Daily Telegraph. Ive always been very, very clear about it. I felt it as a player, I feel it as a coach, as a fan.

But [Jose] Mourinho told me one day when I was at Chelsea: I still have 30 years to work. So I could be here [Como] for 10 years, and you can still go to the Premier League in 12, 15 years.

Football is so unpredictable, it changes in one second. One day, you are the best. The day after, you are the worst. So lets enjoy the moment. I like to enjoy the moment. Its beautiful what we are living here. Lets see what the future holds.
